Thank you, those words seem so small for what all of you have done. Your votes, your support, your wonderful emails with all the words of encouragement.
Some who wrote to ask if we could please bring the Messages Project to their state, or to the institution of their loved one . The wonderful emails from former inmates who have made it or who are struggling and want help. Those of you who just want answers to questions about the project and how to get it started. All who want to volunteer and donate books.
It is a humbling experience to be among so many who have done so much, who want to help, who understand that we can make a difference. I thought for a moment and just a moment, while I was in LA, I was getting caught up in it all, but then I realized the Messages Project was the focus, not me. It is the families and the children we touch that are the focus, not me. Then it was about how to improve and expand the Messages Project to touch more lives.
This was a great opportunity to get the issues of the children and families of and incarcerated person out there, to take it from being the silent victim to we are here, we are real and we have issues that need to be heard.
So once again, thank you all for allowing me to bring the Messages Project to the world's attention.

Since 1999 the Messages Project has worked in six state prisons three times a year to create videotapes from parents to children. The tapes are mailed directly to children and families without review or screening by corrections officials. more ...
